i have the “component cable” that came with the HD box provided by my cable company. i also have an “S” video cable and the standard RG6 hooked up as well. I am just not satisfied with the picture on the regular channels…it looks fuzzy to me, but the HD channels look awesome (all 20 or so of them). is there anything i can do to make the other channels come in clearer? i’ve heard of HDMI cables, but will that solve my problem and is it worth the money.
i have a Samsung LNT3242 series tv (32″LCD). I read reviews on it before i bought it and it was rated very high, but i’m not happy with what i’m seeing so far.

Unfortunately, what you are seeing is what standard definition television looks like on an HDTV. The higher resolution of the display means that channels with lower resolution (regular digital cable channels) will look very average. Try to mess with the settings on your t.v. to see if you can clean up the image any. Try turning the sharpness down some. Unfortunately, depending on the t.v. it may not get any better than what you are seeing.

LMAO….referring to your answer to my marijuana jail time question. My soon to be ex-husband is from Lawrence, Kansas….as well as myself. But he was picked up for it in Iola, Kansas. I bet he wished it would have happened here too!
